The path in the Agios Charalampos gorge is a part of the E4 European long distance route. Following the route, you can go through the impressive Agios Antonios gorge or the Venerato gorge, as it is also called.
The E4 path starts from Ano Asites and passes through Venerato and ends to Profitis Ilias. The beginning of E4 is in the small Agios Charalampos church from where the Agios Charalampos gorse also starts and the route is about 15 kilometers. The path goes through Kerasia, Venarato, the Paliani monastery, the small Pirgos settlement, Kiparissos and ends to Profitis Ilias. The estimated time for its passing is about 4-5 hours.
The Prinos mountain hut is also in this path. The mountain hut is built on the eastern foot of Psiloreitis, 1.100 meters above the sea level. In order to reach it, you have to walk about 2 hours from the beginning of the E4 path or you can follow the rough dirt road from the Gorgolaini monastery, stop the car in a place with a great width on the mountain and, then, walk about 25-30 minutes.
