Kastri, the coastal settlement of the Viannos municipality, is 70 kilometers in the south-east of Heraklion. Kastri has been connected with the Keratokampos settlement and, administratively, it is under the Chondros district.
There are taverns, cafeterias and rooms to let in the village, while a small port has been built in the south of the settlement for the fishermen of the area.
The beaches of Kastri are in the east and in the south of the port. A small, sandy beach with tamarixes is in the south but it is not organized. The larger beach is in the east of the settlement and is sandy.
HISTORY
Kastri is a relatively new settlement.
CHURCHES
The Agios Dimitrios church is near the settlement and was a monastery in the past. The Agios Georgios church is also in Kastri.
