Seitan Limania Beach is located on the northeastern side of the Akrotiri Peninsula, about 20 km east of Chania. This small, unspoiled beach features turquoise waters surrounded by steep cliffs, creating a stunning natural landscape. The area, with its four natural coves, is known for its wild beauty. Seitan Limania is the most famous of the beaches, attracting visitors seeking to experience its serene, crystal-clear waters.
Access to the beach is via a short 10-15 minute hike from the village of Chordaki. The road leading to the trailhead is paved, but the descent requires good physical condition. The beach's turquoise waters and coarse, shimmering sand provide an unforgettable experience, and there are no organized amenities, adding to the purity of the area.
The name "Seitan" comes from the Turkish word meaning "devilish," although the beach offers nothing but peace and serenity. Despite its remote location, Seitan Limania has become known as one of the most beautiful and least discovered beaches in Crete.
