Folklore Museum of Agios Nikolaos

The Folklore Museum of Agios Nikolaos is in one of the oldest buildings of the city, next to the bridge of the lake. It opened in 1978 in order to maintain the tradition of the area.

The exhibits are authentic and rare samples of the Cretan art, as textiles and embroideries, everyday objects of a Cretan house, various objects as woodcuts, icons, books, agricultural tools, a loom, coins, musical instruments etc. An impressive weapon collection of the general, Ioannis Alexakis, is also in the museum.

It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10.30-14.30 and 18.00-20.00.
