The man- made lake, Zaros or Votomos, took its current shape in 1987, after the reformation of the area by the forest inspection.

The lake is in the southern edge of Psiloreitis, 1 kilometer in the north of Zaros. The water comes from the Votomos spring.

There are taverns, coffee houses and a playground in the perimeter of the lake and a path for walking around the lake. If you get tired, there are some wooden tables and benches to rest.

The wide area is full of various flowers and planes.

The gorge of Agios Nikolaos starts from the Votomos man-made lake and ends to the beautiful Rouvas forest after walking through the impressive waterfalls and the green landscape.
