The Platis or Amarianos River is supplied from the Amari valley and ends to the eastern side of the coastal settlement of Agia Galini. Platis was thought as the river of Electra in the ancient years.
Today it is one of the biggest and most beautiful rivers in the island. Many plants, big trees as planes, myrtles, reeds and other river plants are along its banks. Small stone bridges were built by the residents of the area for their transportation and are preserved till today.
Various birds, frogs, turtles, hedgehogs etc are also in the area.
