Sweets should be with a great smell, taste and appearance. How else would someone like them? Here is a very delicious recipe to treat your guests (and, of course, to help yourselves) after the end of the Lent. Kaltsounia or lichnarakia are usually made in Crete during Easter and are very important for the Easter dinner or lunch.
So, Enjoy!
For the dough:
About 1 kilo of flour
1 glass of olive oil
1 glass of milk
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
3 sticks of vanilla
2 small bags of baking powder
For the filling:
1.5 kilo of mizithra
2 eggs
1 stick of vanilla
1 spoon of honey
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1. Make the dough and the filling.
2. Roll the dough and cut it in big circles.
3. Put some of the filling in the center of the circles and, then, “pinch” the edges of the dough with your fingers.
