BEACHES
Many beautiful beaches are in Fragokastelo of the former Sfakia district in the Chania prefecture. The frequent strong winds are a negative of the area. A small port is built near the Fragokastelo castle of the settlement.
The central beach of the settlement is in the east of the port of the settlement, in front of the imposing and famous castle from which the name of the area came from. The beach is organized, sandy and with swallow seawater.
The Vatalos beach is in the west of the central beach. It is a long, sandy and rocky (in some parts) beach.
The beautiful Orthi Ammos (i.e. standing sand) beach is in the east. The name of the beach came from the large sand dunes that you should pass in order to visit it.
