A Middle and Post Minoan settlement and a Protopalatial cemetery were found in Koumasa, the two-peaked hill of Korakies.

There are four tombs (three vaults and a rectangular) of the Proto-Minoan era in the area.

Earthen and stone pots, seals, statuettes, tools, silver daggers and other objects were found in the tombs. According to the findings, a settlement with a sanctum was on the tombs but, now, it is destroyed completely.

The first excavation was in 1904- 1906 by Xanthoudides.
